Question 99 3.2TL, electrical, please help

I have a couple of interesting situations with my 99 Acura,

1. all 4 brake lights burnt out within 3 weeks

2. engine dies about 1 a month for no reason. All I have to do is turn the key off and back on and the engine starts

3. my climate controle temperature varies greately. I can set it at 21deg and be very comfortable. All of a sudden, it blows cold air even with the AC turned off. Then I turn it up to 23deg or so. I'm confortable again for a while and then it blows cold again. On a long trip I have to keep the setting at 28deg or so to stay warm.

4. my TCS light has turned on twice now. It stays on for an hour or so and then turns off.

5. my check engine light turned on yesterday. I do not have a code reader and we do not have an Acura dealer in the area.

Is it possible for all of these problems to be related? Is my alternator putting out too much and causing all of these issues? I have just under 100k on the car now. I love the ride of this car and I don't want to get rid of it.

I appreciate any help you can give me.

Depend on the miles, check to see if sensors might be going out. Also might be time to check out some of the relay fuses and regular fuses.

I'll buy an ODBII scanner in the morning and see what codes come up.

Never thought of checking the fuses. I'll check those out too. I have about 60,000 miles on the car now.

I forgot to mention that the alarm sometimes goes off when I try to start the car in the morning.

Thank you for your help

electrical problem fixed by recall for 99 TL

I have great news!

A few of my problems will soon be fixed by an Acura dealer under two 99TL recalls.

The problem where the car dies without explanation is due to a bad contact inside the ignition. Acura recognizes this problem under an extended recall and will replace my ignition.

The 2nd problem with the check engine light was caused by a bad EGR system. This is also covered under an extended recall. Acura will replace my EGR valve and clean both the exhaust and intake manifolds.

Apparently both of these problems would have cost almost $1500 to fix if they were our of warranty or recalls. Thank you Acura!

An other problem which was the varying temperature was caused by a bad mixture motor. This one was not covered under warranty and cost me $211 with taxes.

At least most things will be fixed as soon as the dealer gets the parts in.
