Great so you basically have a fraction of the light output that HIDs can produce. Nice job.

Wouldnt touch anything higher than 6000k

I thought that the Ks are for color temperature and not the actual bulb temp. The way I understood it, the higher the color temp, the closer it is to the blue end of the spectrum. IMO it has nothing to do with how hot it is going to be. the 4,000 + ks that the stock bulbs the TLs have is closer to the "white" part of the spectrum and some say could be the brightest. So to say 6,000 to 8,000 k is brighter while heading towards the "blue" end of the spectrum is actually wrong. The light intensity gets into the blue zone so there would be the obvious blue color, hence the beam would actually be dimmer than stock.

The thing I don't understand is that why people with actual HIDs need to add color to their headlights as with people with halogen headlamps attempt to imitate HID by spending tons on cheap blue tinted bulbs.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't find anything appealing on those BMW, Audi lights that give you a tinge of blue off-center. Looks cheap.
