7500 maintenance check up- is it a must?

Hi all,
I almost have 7500 on my car and the "check-up" reminding-light's been blinking for a few seconds after I hit 6000.
Did any of you care to go for maintenance-check-ups?
It kinda seems unnecessary, IMO.
Just wanted to hear your opinions before I decide to spend $100 or more.
Thanks all

oh BTW the Civic vs. Vette was mad funny!!!

If you get a list of what Acura actually does at this "service" you'll see that the only thing they replace is the oil and filter. Other than a tire rotation, everything else is "inspect this" or "check that." If you have even the slightest bit of mechanical aptitude, you can do most of the inspects and checks yourself. Tire rotation is important, but you can also do that yourself or most tire places will do it for free even if you didn't buy tires there. You can reset the maintenence required light yourself (check your manual for instructions). IMO, just ask for the standard oil change. Believe me, if they see anything suspect while they're under the hood, of course they're going to tell you--it's more money for them if you get it fixed.

And if you absolutely decide you want to get the service done, check with your local Honda dealer first. Chances are the price will be a *lot* cheaper, they'll do the exact same service and--the best part--regular maintenence done at a Honda dealer satisfies all warranty requirements (because it is the exact same thing).

I don't think that's necessary. If you worry about Maintenance Req indicator, don't worry about it. It will blink & stay on for your service reminder, but you can reset it.
-> (Press & hold both RESET & SELECT and put the key an ingnition and wait till lights go off)

The maintenance is a waste of money.

Basically it's a REAL EXPENSIVE oil change.

Obtain a list and you'll see there's only a couple of things you need to do. THe rest is inspection and I hardly doubt they inspect anything. Your car is new...nothing to really inspect.

Good luck and get that stuff done someplace else!
