6k for 160k miles and lip kit?!?!
i am currently looking at an silver 02 TL-S with 160k on it. it have the lip kit and is drop with EIBACH LOWERING KIT and it have updated navigation. i went and look at the car. it really clean. however the ABS VSA and the ! is on. he say it the abs sensor and that why all of it is on? and he say he been driving it for a year already.. i also notice when i shift there a 1-2 second delay than i felt like the engine shift/move a little. ( sorry not that good at explaining.)
i ran a car-fax and found out that @ 63k it say Engine/powertrain computer/module replaced and @ 93k it say automatic transmission service.
the car is really clean. it not that low at all . just perfect. im here to ask for opinion esp about the abs vsa and ! light. thank you
ps. i got it down to 6k. he was asking ridiculously high

It may sound like a lot of work but your best bet is taking it to Acura and have one of the mech's there look at it. Not sure how much its gonna cost you but I can't imagine too much.
If the guy that's selling it gives you a hard time about it. Let him take it and bring you back the report.
regardless of a dealer or a personal sale it's ALWAYS best to try to get as much as you can in writing(some sort of certified doc).
If he really wants to make the sale...he'll take it or let you take...just don't F-UP and crash the car on ur way to the dealer...lmao

The lip kit and the cosmetic condition of the car may seem appealing, but if you have mechanical, or worst, electrical problems, then all the little problems can add up and put you through hell.
1st off, the mileage is definitely high for the price AND it's an automatic. And about the notification lights, they can end up costing a lot of money to fix if it's one of the components that needs to be replaced, especially if it's the ABS sensors.
You can check if the engine was serviced during the recall by checking under the hood for the jet kit - it's supposed to allow more oil to go into 3rd gear (I may be wrong) which Acura did to a lot of cars to solve the transmission issue. If it has that, then I don't think it's that big of a deal if the shifting isn't completely smooth, sometimes the car jerks a bit when it's running cold.
Also, him having the car lowered and an aftermarket headunit install kinda kills the deal for me... 6K would probably be okay if it was left stock, but when people start to modify it, you never know who did what. And when problems occur, you'll have a hard time figuring out the source. Just my two cents, but it's really up to you. I say wait a week, if you still want it, try to work something out with the guy.
