Of course you can get 6000K bulbs on 00TL. You can get D2R for our TL. It's direct swap. Some of members got D2S bulbs which are for projector type HID's. It does require little bit of modification on the bulbs though. Good Luck!!

1998 TL --> 2003 TL uses the same type of bulb (D2R), so if it fits for others, must fit for your 2000 TL. D2S takes about 5 seconds of your life with a dremel tool to modify...probably 30 secs with nail filler.

Oh boy. Here we go again.

I wish I had the courage to perform the 6000k install.

Good luck with them!

Just wanted to make one thing clear here. 99 TL - 03 TL. 98 TL uses halogen type.

So what's the difference between D2R and D2S? Is one of them suppose to be brighter than the other??

Basically the same..but D2R has a "shield" on it..this shield blocks off some lights giving off...thus not as bright as D2S.

Hey man, if you're ever down here in NOVA, I can help you with the install.

For the left side, there is a black cover that you have to take off. Just use a screwdriver. Then you'll see the waterproof cap with warnings on it. Before you take off the cap, you have to unplug the electrical plug. Then use a torx T-20 bit to remove the screw holding the cap in place. Push in and turn counterclockwise. This will expose the bulb. There is a screw holding in a metal clip. Examine how the clip is held in VERY closely!! Loosen the screw and the clip will pop out and then you can pull the bulb out. Don't touch the bulb. Swap the bulbs and here's the tough part. Slide the bulb back into place making sure everything is aligned. Then holding the bulb in place with one hand, put the clip back in. You have to hook the clip so that it locks in place underneath the bulb. Then gently put the screw back on to secure the clip. The rest should be easy.

For the right side, the windshield fluid tube is blocking your way. You can remove the top section of the tube to give you more room. Then follow the steps above to swap the right side bulb.

The clips and bulbs are unidirectional, meaning they look the same for both the left and right sides. So you don't have to worry about remembering which clip was from which side.
