60,000k service....$344!!!
Yeh that's how much they want to charge me for the 60,000 service!
I just got my tl a few thousand miles ago (now at 56,500) and I wanted to make sure the previous owners took care of it. So I was going to bring it in soon to have the 60,000k mile checkup just a bit early. Well, I don't know about that now since they want to charge $344.00 for that! Even though that includes oil change and tire rotation, that's a shitload of money!
What do you guys do, I could'nt find another thread on it although i remember a few.

I didn't do it yet....I was thinking about doing it but now I probably won't.
I think all they do is what is listed in the maintenance thing on ownerlink web page.

umm dude, tire rotation is like $19.....mobile 1 synth oil change SHOULD be $30 to $50.....i pay $30. Actually i rotated my tires on Sunday myself....went out to sears and got a nice floor jack and jack stands....it was fun. (not cheap or anything, it's just fun to do it yourself). Yeah, i never take the car to those stupid check things. i mean, i'll bet anything if i take it to my mechanic (or if you take YOURS to your mechanic) he'll look over the car, make sure everything's cool. -shawn

yeh I know it's expensive. For oil change they charge like $28 and then like $38 for rotation and balancing.
Other than that they check the fluids, tie rod ends and other steering components, replace oil filter and drain plug, air filter, check belts, hoses, fuel lines and exhaust system, front and rear brake line assemblies, etc...
I guess the other couple hundred is for that stuff.

Save your money, do it yourself. Luckily, I live near a military base and I can go there to the auto skills center where they have hydraulic lifts and oil changing bays. I change my oil and do tire rotations in under 30 min. I love it! Just, one benefit for being in the military I suppose.

WASTE OF MONEY! 162,000 miles of dealer free service(never had any maint done by the dealer)!

GoldTL what dealer is that? Walker or Baton Rouge? I bought a service manual and bring my car to a Goodyear place in Slidell for things like that. One of my dad's friends owns the place so I get alot of work done for free but even if they didn't, they are always cheaper, do better work, and take less time than Acura and I don't have to deal with asshole service. The only time I bring it to Acura is for things covered under warranty. $344 sounds a bit crazy. Just my

yeh man that is acura of baton rouge, I don't know how much Walker Acura would charge. I am thinking about bringing it elsewhere to have it looked at, but I kind of still want the oil change from the dealer, i dunno. Can you recommend any places in New Orleans that you would bring your car too for the service?

My dealership quoted me almost $400 for that service. I called a local import repair shop and they did it for $200, using all Honda parts and fluids. I was extremely pleased with the work -- something like that might also be an option for you. $200 is still more than doing it yourself, but I would likely do more harm than good... ultimately costing me much more $$!
