60,000 Mile Service Needed?

Hi all,

Newbie here. Not sure where to post this so I'll start here. I searched the forums first but found nothing on this topic.

Here's the situation. Currently I have just over 65,000 miles on my 99 TL. I thought I was going to sell it earlier this year so I skipped the 60,000 mile service. That did not happen and due to a work situation it appears I will be keeping it for at least another year. Since I work out of my house, I do not put many miles on it. Only about 8,000/year.

Is there a general opinion out there on if this service is actually needed? I was quoted about $425 + tax (less 15% coupon discount) by a local dealer here in the Phoenix area. Will just an oil change do? Again, I would only expect to put another 8,000 miles on it before I sell it (next year).

THANK YOU for any input you can provide!!

I was quoted the same price in StL. I'm just changing plugs and fluids on my own, it's much cheaper. I was going to change the air filter, but instead I got an AEM V2. All that along with an oil change should be good. I don't think that it is necessary to have Acura do it for warranty purposes. If anyone knows please repost.

Correct. Just save receipts in-case.

60k service is a joke. It's not that hard to check most of that stuff yourself. Buy the helms manual if you need to. Most likely all you'll need is an oil change, tire rotation, engine filter, and cabin filter in the end. Save your receipts and then note work performed by owner on www.ahm-ownerlink.com. If you want go ahead and change the trans fluid with the savings even though it's not part of the service.

If you need help doing the cabin air filter replacement, there is a good DIY on this for you.
