6 speed MT TL Type-S...
Is this worth doing? I know that I would have to change a whole bunch of crap, but is it possible? I know anything is possible if you have the money, but I am not rockafeller

I would research getting an engine/tranny/ECU and everything else that goes with it (like driveshafts, console, etc.) as used parts, and offering your parts as trade in. It is possible to find a low mileage parts from a car totaled in the rear end collision. With parts swap, it may only cost you a couple of thousand for parts, and a few more thousand to get it all installed.

That's a good idea. But how many '03 CL-S' am I supposed to find around here in a junk yard that only have a rear end hit that wasn't fixable?

For what it would cost for conversion, you can trade in for a brand new CLS 6-speed WITH Warranty!!! Not only it's a hassle(keep in mind that VSC would be taken off, too, and you probably would want LSD couple with 6-speed...)to swap things out, worst yet, you void warranty for sure..... and who knows what side-effects would be there after the swap.....
But like many said, anything can be done if you got the dough to burn....

com'on TuRb0MiKeY, don't have to be so offensive
if you don't like them, you don't have to read them or answer them right? some people are new here, give them a break, or they just want to learn, don't be so negative now

Thanks STi well put. How do you know how much money I have monkey spanker? I am simply asking a question, if you don't like it don't read it. What would be the point of this forum if we didn't ask questions?

here's what you do.....take the money that it will cost for the 6 speed upgrade (properly) and go get a new NSX. The NSX will also have a warranty and pick up 4 times more bittches.

There is an v6 accord with a Legend 5 speed. It costed $6000 to do, but that was due to some custom fabrication.

.....dont forget about pedals....... You'll probably have to change out all the bracketry, ditch the existing brake pedal and get the clutch/brake pedal setup. Not to mention firewall modifications to get the linkage through.... Plus those little lights on your dash (D5,D4...etc.) will be inoperative. The hole is your console will require modified boots...... Not to mention the resale of your car will probably go down. I remember the day when we paid MORE money to have an automatic..... Oh well......

Did Jens give any detail on why the car wouldn't pass emissions? That sounds weird.
I had my headlights stolen in Totowa about a year ago. Memories... Drove home at night with a flashlight pointed out my window.

Anyway, he said that each car comes out of the factory with some type of warranty or certificate and this tells that the car was an auto, so if you convert it, they will know that it wasn't like that stock.

whats wrong with the next gen accord? just curious.. yeah that flashlight story is funny although I don't quite get how it applies haha.. and yeah I have a first gen and I've heard of the legend v6's being put into it for under 6k so I don't know why you would need so much done to swap to something that is probably a similar engine
