3rd gen seats fit in an 03 S Type?
I know this is a long shot with airbags, sensors, seat heaters and memory, but is there any chance that some year 3rd generation TL seats will fit my 2003 TL? The leather on mine looks good but it's gotten very stiff and there's a horizontal bar behind the foam at the bottom of the seat back that's poking me. I saw a few pairs of later model seats for sale in black and started thinking about a swap.
Two trim shops said the same thing: didn't really think extra foam would help due to shrinkage and stiffness of covers. New covers are an option, but not an inexpensive one.
Again, I know it's not likely but hey, I put 84 mustang seats in my 66 and they dropped rt in!

A flashback to days of yesteryear.....and simplicity, ahh those good 'ol memories !
While I'm unsure of it being an exact perfect drop in , I't probably be very possible that the newer seats would be a close fit. If someone has already done the swap, they could enlighten those of us with aging seats.
One would think that the mounting of the newer seats would be relatively easy, it's just a matter of making all the "doo-dads" functional again. Try going to your local recyclers and they may let you test fit. Wiring schematics would also be helpful to compare the seat's added accessories adaptibility.
I doubt that the swap would be plug and sit, but it would be good to hear firsthand from an experienced 'Ziner.
