3G TL, salesmen, and a rattle
I'm in the market for a new car (my dad is actually). Naturally I got into my 99 TL and went to Acura to see a 2006 TL. Test drove it and its great. First impressions: 06 feels heavier and more solid than the 99, better acceleration, and navi screen is borderline amazing.
The salesmen there seemed, in my point of view, pretty unprofessional. At one point they were telling me about how they get paid, and by showing me a car they don't get paid. Exact words were. "You pay me, not the dealer". I knew how the commissions worked and all that but seemed unprofessional to, what appeared to be, guilt tripping me into buying something right then.
Now the question. I don't know if it was because I just drove a new TL 10 minutes before, but when I got on the highway in my 99 TL, it felt like the steering wheel would shake on the highway at 50+mph. It wasnt a violent shaking, but would shake enough that my entire sleeve would vibrate. Was this normal?
sorry for being winded, by the way, dealer was offering $33,900 for an 06 TL w/ navi if curious

Shaking at high speeds could be due to numerous causes. Axles, improperly balanced tires, play in the tie rods, improper alignment, etc, etc.
It'll be a pain in the ass to find the exact problem.
As for the salesman, that is one of their tactics. You're right, they are trying to put a guilt trip on you. When they try that on me, I just say "well, you're not going to just sell me a car without spending the time to show me the car." Yeah, they only get paid when they selll a car, but showing the car to customers is a part of the process in order to get paid.
