my car is around 27k miles right now and was wondering if there was such thing as a 30k service? if so what do they do and how much does it cost?

The manual for a 2000 TL says:

<Severe Driving Conditions>

Replace Air Filter.
Replace Tranny Fluid
Replace Air Conditioning Filter

I'm in the same boat, my ride is due for 30k service soon.

As far as the cost of these three things, I have no idea. I'm not going to do that $300+ Service though.

Other issues that will be mentioned when service is due.
a. Warped Rotors.
b. Dash lights that flicker when the dimmer is set low.

make sure you change the tranny fluid cuz it can be later used as evidence that you really tried to take care of the tranny

I just had the 30,000 mile MAJOR SERVICE done to my 2000TL the other day. I did it kinda early at 22,659 miles because of the time that I have had my car. I had the car over 2 & a half years now & go by the severe driving section in the owners manual. Going by the owners manual in months for service it was time to have the TRANNY FLUID change. The 22,500 service does not include a tranny fluid change. To have that done would be about $75.00 alone. So instead I skiped the 22,500 INTERMEDIATE SERVICE & got the MAJOR 30,000 mile done. I also got a 4Wheel alignment done since they balance & rotate at this service. Its been awhile since the alignment was checked so that was an extra $79.95.
The E-BRAKE CABLE was loose & the armrest had a few screws that had fallen out. This is what causes it to open byitself & not latch. The same thing was fixed a year ago but it was not flying open this time. They replaced the screws & put locktite on it.
This was done under warranty again for the second time & the E-BRAKE CABLE also was warranty. I also had the car in for another problem during this service & will post that in a separate post.
I only had a $15.00 off coupon for service over $100.00 it helped a little. I have put 400 HWY miles on the car since service the other day. The labor total was $150.00 & the parts total was $152.00. The dealer gave me an extra $10.00 off for a total of $25.00 off. My total cost with the 4wheel alignment was $395.75

Replacing tranny fluid is a must at 30,000 miles. Luckily, my cousin owns an auto shop. Therefore, I don't have to pay for labors when its time to getting my cars into service. .:p
