Talking 3,000 MILES IN 4 WEEKS!!!

Hello everyone! I am new to this fabulous forum. Even though I've read your posts for a couple of months already but I've never post before. I have discovered this website back in November of 2000. You guys are the greatest with all kinds of information. I also discovered about the TL-S from this site last November. I was gonna buy the 2001 TL until I heard about the TL-S coming out March 2001. Thanks guys!!! I finally bought my first new car on April 21, 2001...The Acura 3.2 TL Type S with Nav. Black on Black with spoiler. Had it tinted two weeks after. I already put 3,000 plus miles on it. I just can't seem to stop driving it. It's just wonderful and I enjoyed every minute of it. Does anyone here feel the same or better? Just wondering if it's just me...

You have me beat. I have had my car about 7weeks and have 4,000 miles. Getting great mileage on 89 octane. I am told by Ed Wallace who has a car show called wheels on am 570 in Dallas( can hear the archives of his 5hr Saturday am show on KLIF web page. ) Ed writes for several car magazines and he is on his 4thRL. He states you can burn even 87 octane, because the computer resets etc. when it senses a different octane and you won't notice hardly any difference in performance and will save a butt load of money on gas. I haven't tried 87, but my car runs like crazy on 89 and gets about 28mpg on a trip with about 80% highway driving fairly aggressively(over 75mph) Ed says the only reason they recommend Higher octane is so they can tout their hp. ratings..

The reason why they recommend Higher octane is because the TL-s has a high compression engine (Compression ratio 10.5:1).... basically using regular octane fuel, would not do as much damage in a TL engine, where the compression is a lot lower (9.8:1).....
