2nd Transmission failed. Time for a new car?
Hey all,
It happened today. My 2nd transmission died, well, almost died. Had all the same symptoms the first time. Called the Acura Luxury Total Customer Care hotline thing, and omg, this was the worst experience in my life. Called them at 1:30pm, and after numerous calls and runarounds, no tow truck came, and at 6:30pm, i took a chance and drove my car to my house. Barely made it, and has some close calls. Call me crazy but i was NOT going to wait out all night. Anyway, long story short, they never came, the car is at my house, and i think its time to sell it and get something else.
Is my car worth selling? it has aftermarket springs, sways and the competch icebox intake. And OBX Headers. I don't have the original parts anymore. It has 38,300 miles on it. What kind of trade-in could i expect to get? Or what should i do? I can't deal with Acura's terrible service anymore. I still love the car, but it just isn't worth it to me.

I haven't had a tranny failure. But I've always said that if my tranny fails then my replacement tranny fails, I'm getting a new car, regardless of how much I may love my TL.
The replacement trannies are just as flawed as the originals, so they're going to keep failing on us. When your warranty expires, repair costs will all be out of pocket!

Took me two months to sell mine, just be patient. ( Ialmost changed my mind about selling it because everytime I opened the garage that ABP was just awesome) But I I went through with it. It'll sell. I took off the mods off though and replaced them with my stock parts.

Factory parts
Guys, I don't have the original parts anymore, well, i still have the main parts, like the original header, springs, rear sway bar, and the resonator/air filter, but i know that i'm missing pieces of each, like bolts, washers, maybe a line was cut, etc. And i would have to take it somewhere to get everything put back on, sincei don't do the work myself. Would it be worth it for me to try and get someone to install the original stuff and pay for any parts that are missing? Would this end up being reliable if parts aren't accurate?
Also, how would a trade-in work if i still owe like $10k on the car? my car is listed, at "fair" condition to be a $15k trade-in value. I listed "fair" because of the aftermarket parts, but if i put the originals back, and the car is in outstanding shape aside from those parts, everything is clean and looks good, would it rank up there at "good" condition?
Thanks for any help and suggestions!
