2nd tranny; shift gate issue...?
Just had my second tranny rebuilt (1st was an Acura replacement).
Done and out the door for $2500 (rebuilt tranny, new torque converter, replaced one mount, replacement front case half due to pump gear wearing case).
Driving home I notice that the shift gate is not quite right; when in "D" it doesn't quite line up in the middle with the sports shift opening. Trying to go into sports shift requires quite a bit of force where it did not before.
Is this a console issue or the linkage to the tranny?
I'm going to have him look at it tomorrow but I'd like to be prepared.

id say a linkage issue. When they did the trans work they shouldnt have touched the shifter. They will have to adjust something to get it lined up

So I went in this morning and he took of the cowl covering the linkage to the tranny and showed me that there is no adjustment there.
Is anyone famiiar with this issue? I seem to have to pull the shifter back 1/8" to get it to smoothly slide to the left to get into SS mode.
Help!
He suggested it might have an adjustment in the console, but I don't see that from the picture below:
