Wink 2004 tl/tls

Hi Iam new to the forum... I been hearing a lot of rumors about the new tl ( if Acura is actually going to build one) Iam interested in purchasing a new car soon... (maybe 6-12 months). I am definitely leaning to the TL. However, with all the tranny problems that have been reported, and the likely that the new TL will increase in price, I don't know if it is worth considering. SO here is my questions......

1) is the new TL coming in 2004?

2) Will the prices be increased dramatically?

3) do anyone have pics on what it may possibly look like?

4) Should I just consider the TSX just in case?

5) should I wait for the year end clearance and get a 2002/2003 model.. and possibly save thousands of dollars.

I appreciate your input

1) is the new TL coming in 2004?

Yes, there will be a new model coming out in 2004.

2) Will the prices be increased dramatically?

Not dramatically, but there will be a price increase, because of the new features, like voice recognizable navigation system, etc...

3) do anyone have pics on what it may possibly look like?

From what I hear, it will look all lot like 2003 Honda Accord, which in my opinion will ruin the entire look of the car.

4) Should I just consider the TSX just in case?
That's up to you.

5) should I wait for the year end clearance and get a 2002/2003 model.. and possibly save thousands of dollars.

I have a 2003 3.2 TL and I love it. What I would recommend is waiting till March or April of this year and then getting a hold of an Acura dealer. Acuras come out with new models in May, so a couple of months before to start shopping around should be fine. I would think that 2003 TLS with NAVI at that time hould run you for 29K - 30K, NEW.

Hope this helps.

Re: 2004 tl/tls

1) is the new TL coming in 2004?

NO 2003 Fall, and it is confirmed by one of Acura's Announcement, I will see if I can find it, But Im pretty sure it will debut by Summer..

2) Will the prices be increased dramatically?

I doubt too much, maybe 1-2 grand, which is not a big deal.

3) do anyone have pics on what it may possibly look like?

NO ONE KNOWS. the frame will be based on the new Accord but the Exterior should look nice, just look at the TSX!

4) Should I just consider the TSX just in case?

TSX=Less Luxury, Less Power, Less Features, Less Handling..

5) should I wait for the year end clearance and get a 2002/2003 model.. and possibly save thousands of dollars.

Well its already 2003 and if you go buy a car that will change you will be dissapointed.. You might be happy if you buy the 2003 TL Type-S, but u will get jealous and envy the 2004 TL, Trust me you will regret it, specially for a 30 some grand CAR. The new features like voice activated NAVI, Intelligent Cruise Control, 280 HP, ETC.. And I doubt you will SAVE THOUSANDS, maybe a little.

"Honda gets XM Radio

By K.C. Crain
Automotive News / January 16, 2003

WASHINGTON — Starting this spring, American Honda Motor Co. customers will be able to get XM Satellite Radio in their vehicles.

The satellite radio service will be offered as a dealer-installed option this spring on the Honda Accord and Pilot. In addition to the cost of the hardware, XM Satellite Radio subscribers pay $9.99 a month for the service.

Also this spring, the 2004 Acura RL sedan goes on sale with the XM radio as standard equipment. Next fall, the 2004 TL sedan will also be equipped with the satellite radio as standard.

Honda expects to make XM Satellite Radio a factory-installed option on the Accord for the 2004 model year, and expand availability of the service in 2005."
