2003 TL-S Stick?
#2
The 2nd gen TL Type S (99-2003) only comes in automatic. The 99 had a 4-speed auto and the 2000-2003 has the 5-speed, all sportshift. The 2003 CL Type S is the model with a 6-speed stick.
Of course, now it looks like the 2004 TL will have a stick option!

Prior to that, the NSX was the only Acura with a six cylinder engine to be offered with a manual for quite some time.

Your friend may be confusing the CL with the TL. The new 2004 TL will have a 6-speed model available. That car should be launched within the next 2 months.
FYI... per an Acura tech who frequents the boards (mainly acl.com): to swap a manual into an automatic TL-S/CL-S would run you between $7k-$9k in parts and labor and that's not counting money and time to get everything working right.
