2003 Acura TL3.2 Type S

I know Im new to the forum but I would like your opinion on a 2003 Acura TL3.2 Type S with 128K on it for $7,999. I know these cars have issues with the tranny but anything else that I should ask the dealership about? Think its a deal or not? Just tell me anything you think I should know. I, also, have a 96 TL 2.5 with around 150k on it. I bought it will 99K and so far it has only needed minor to less severe repairs, such as rotors, brakes, engine motors, and now the oil seal is dying and it will cost $600ish to fix. Thanx in advance

for this kind of car, I wouldn't personally buy one with any more than 60k. If you drove it up to 128k thats another story, but with all the possible problems on the tranny it's quite a risk to take for 10k. Plus, you need to find out if it was driven nicely or driven hard...IMHO look for another one.

There are serious transmission reliability issues with the second generation TLs. A replacement transmission can run $4,000 and a TL with over 109,000 miles is not covered by the extended warranty on the tranny.

I wouldn't buy a TL with so many miles unless there was an aftermarket warranty on the transmission or the price was heavily discounted.

Your gut feeling might miss an impending transmission failure.

Good luck with whatever you buy!

Bob
