Since the Accord is a lighter car with more HP, look out for those of you that have the plain TL like I do. I think Toyota made a huge mistake with their V6, as the Accord and Altima have way more power. and for old farts that may like the Camry, they cannot ignore the HP issue as they really want the POWER.

What gets me is how they managed to squeeze out 240hp out of a 3.0 litre using regular grade gasoline in a 10.0:1 compression engine. Fuel consumption is only 21/30mpg for this new engine compared to 19/29mpg for the TL's 3.2 litre engine. That's a hell of a mod I like to have.
Got to give those Honda engineers credit.

Most of you guys just think about HP ofcourse I do to.
But I just got my copy of Motor Trend today with the ACCORD in it.
It says it runs with the unrival 240HP ALTIMA. What I wan't to know is what options are comming on the top of the line model.I know it will have new Nav but does it have VSA or heated seats, mirrors & HID or even Sport- Shift as options? If it does not have all of them it does not even get my goat. This was the kind of options that made me buy my 2000 TL over the ACCORD anyway. I had purchased 2 new ACCORDs 90&94 models but wanted more options in than the last ACCORD could offer.

the accord is meant to be an economy car, which it will still be
but the reason that honda bumped up the hp is because the market is doing so, nowadays people not just look at cars as trasportations, they also seek fun from them
so now that nissan offers 240hp, honda will join the game, but still maintaining unmatched FWD drivetrain + reliability + quality and resale value following the usual Honda tradition
even though i think it is definately not the best looking car, but accords have never been the best looking cars, but they still keep selling and selling, because there's the honda magic

I agree with that STi thats why I got 2 ACCORDs in the 90s. When I got my TL. ACURA said it was a car designed for people that have out grown thier ACCORDs. This was very true in my case I wanted more HP & all the luxury & saftey features for an affordable price. I remeber the HONDA salesman that was trying to sell me another ACCORD saying you do not need TCS on a 200HP ACCORD. Then a few years later here comes HONDA with TCS on the 200HP ACCORD. I found a site that says the EX V6 comes with heated seats. I am not sure about HID as an option this along with the Sport Shift sold me on the TL back in 1998.
It took me 2years to get one but I got it.
