Angry 2002 TL-S: Transmission Replaced

Well, I figured that I'd chime in with my (2002) TL-S horror story. To make a long story short, I've been having transmission problems for the last week, car slipping between 3rd and 4th gear mainly. So, I brought the car in today and it turns out, you guested it, I need a new transmission. The car is currently at 23k miles and was probably manufactured sometime around March/April (it was a demo with 4.5k on it when I got it about eight months ago). If you're interested, you can read my whole saga (yeah there's more!) here:

http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=e...ing.google.com

..and here:

http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=e...ing.google.com

I'm about ready to give up on this car, dealer and company, which is a shame, because under better conditions, this car could be great.

All warranty work must be done by an Acura service dept.

250 miles is not really alot of miles, just be aware of all the acura dealers on your route. And keep that 800 acura TLC number handy just in case. Good luck.

What do you think they would do if something happend, ship the car there free of cost?

I asked about this myself because I live over 70 miles from the nearest Acura dealership. They assured me that if, while under the factory warranty, I break down anywhere in the continental US due to a mechanical problem (not running out of gas or flat tire), they would tow the car *at their expense* to the nearest Acura dealership for warranty service.

Getting it there shouldn't really be a problem but what are you going to do when it does need warranty work? Wait for it all day while it's done? That plus the 7 hours round trip to the dealer sounds like a lot of hassle to me.
