2002 TL-S: Transmission Replaced
Well, I figured that I'd chime in with my (2002) TL-S horror story. To make a long story short, I've been having transmission problems for the last week, car slipping between 3rd and 4th gear mainly. So, I brought the car in today and it turns out, you guested it, I need a new transmission. The car is currently at 23k miles and was probably manufactured sometime around March/April (it was a demo with 4.5k on it when I got it about eight months ago). If you're interested, you can read my whole saga (yeah there's more!) here:

..and here:

I'm about ready to give up on this car, dealer and company, which is a shame, because under better conditions, this car could be great.

Getting it there shouldn't really be a problem but what are you going to do when it does need warranty work? Wait for it all day while it's done? That plus the 7 hours round trip to the dealer sounds like a lot of hassle to me.

They assured me that if, while under the factory warranty, I break down anywhere in the continental US due to a mechanical problem (not running out of gas or flat tire), they would tow the car *at their expense* to the nearest Acura dealership for warranty service.
