2000 ACURA TL transmission

I'm looking at this 2000 TL which has about 69K miles on it (mostly highway miles), and fairly new tires. My main concern was with the auto transmission, but the current owner had a new transmission put in a little while back. My question is: will there be a problem with the transmission again, and if so, when should I expect it? I am thinking that will strongly influence my decision whether to go for it or not. Anyway advice/suggestions would be helpful.

Thx.

thx, ill*tl

thx for the info and welcome.
the ext. warranty is reassuring to some extent.
would you know what the likelihood of a problem arising again with auto trans. is, since it's been newly replaced?

thx for your response.

Some tranny symptoms..
..Hard and un-suspecting downshifts/upshits.
..While you press on the gas, the rpm needle rises but you don't go anywhere.
..You find that your tranny is shifting weird between 4th & 5th gear (40-45mph)..almost like its having a hard time figuring out which gear to stay in.

There are more symptoms but those seem to be the most popular.

STAY AWAY from any TL that ha had a trannie replaced. The percentage of the TL that have a trannie failure is 5-7%. BUT if the car has already had a trannie replaced there is a MUCH MUCH larger chance o failing again. I love the TL and strongly reccomend the car. But if you haven't purchased the car yet I would find one that hsn't had ANY transmission replacements/rebuilds. Look around there is tons of them - don't go and buy a car that has a higher chance of screwing you around. Just my $0.02
