2 Questions

1) 2003 TL-S for 1 1/2 years now. that's 18 months...i would say i had to enter navi code about 10 times every here and there. Is it just me or what?? The other day happened twice, in the morning when i started car it asked for code and afternoon after the movies it asked code again?? whats the deal?? Radio is fine...never asked for code.

2) 6 months ago, I upgraded to Rotora slotted rotors with EBC greenpads on all four stock wheels. What a difference i have to say, but question is why does my wheels (tires) squeak when i brake hard. Stock tires still at 75%. Last night i had to brake kinda hard for a quick yellow to red light with a damn Camera on the corner. Sounded loud enough it scared ppl next to me. Whats wrong??

Can't help with ?1, never had a problem - had my '02 a year and a half also, never asked for a code. The only slight guess on my part would be if there's an issue where the system thinks the battery's been dosconnected (?)

2) when you say squeak - are you referring to a brake squeak or a tire squeal as they aproach lock-up?

BTW, I'm thiking of going to the same setup - Rotoras with EBC, just started getting quotes today - $172 a pair for the rotors, $63 for the pads.

Tires will squeal as they approach the point where they are about to lock up, right before the ABS kicks in. If your braking performance is much better with the new pads/rotors, they are doing a better job of stopping the wheel turning, which is why they will start to squeal. Don't mean to offend, but it could simply be driving style - some people slow down early, others wait to later and brake harder, which result in squealing more often...

Well...i do drive fast at times but i do know how to drive my TL also . Just got caught at a corner with a damn Camera so had to brake hard. You are right about the new braking power compared to the stock wheels. Thanks.

Any idea about the Navi situation. Its annoying putting the code in.

Is it possible you have a loose connect somewhere? That's all I would say it could be - have the dealer take a look at it. Check the connections to the Navi in the trunk - make sure you didn't knock something loose when you put things in there.
