1st Genner maybe soon 2nd Genner
Hello 2nd Genners!
I must say I am embarrassed by asking you guys. I have always smirked at a post where somebody’s getting an opinion on getting A car….I always respond to such a post by saying….DO YOUR RESEARCH…
But I have done my research and the bottom line is that I am in this crap, a car is available for purchase for $9,800. Maybe can be negotiated to $9K or lower.
2003 TL-S Anthracite with Black Leather.
•Had body work done on the rear, it sucks but I can accept it (not really but I have to bite my tongue).
•A tail light has water….probably cracked from accident. Needs replaced or fixed.
•1 fog lamp in bad shape, still works though.
•Has front lip.
•73,000 miles, original transmission (this is scary to even mention).
•I have not inspected the underside if there are leaks, will do it this weekend.
•Interior leather is decent.
•Engine sounds OK.
•Rims, 17 TL-s 5 spoke are OK, good tires.
•Have not checked stereo, said all OK.
Carfax says OK, accident was declared on the report. Car came from upstate so normal corrosion seen.
I really need to get a car, my 1st Gen will be handed down to my son. His Camry was totaled.
I figured this would be the time to upgrade. I need to decide and do this this weekend....
Should I chill?
Or should I go?
Your input will be appreciated....
Thanks!

Pass on that one. I recently bought my 02 S type for 8200 with 85000 miles on it. Tan interior in excellent shape, a few dings around the body but nothing major, no accidents, clean carfax, and everything works fine. The only thing that my mechanic could find was a broken motor mount.
I would recommend that you keep looking, because there is surely a better deal out there.

the driver side exhaust tip sits really far in, most likely from the rear end damage. the y pipe is probably bent. the trunk lid was probably redone because the "TL-S" badge is located too far to the left than it should be >>>http://.files.wordpress.com/2008/03/dsc_9961.jpg
of you're seriously thinking about it, take it to a good shop and get it inspected. 9800 is way overpriced for this.

shoot, come here and I'll sell you mine for 9k, but seriously, its overpriced. I'm browsing craigslist and I can find better deals then that. Just wait it out, you dont want that stuff to come back and haunt you 1-2 years down the line. If you do decide to jump on it, I wouldnt pay more then 7500 for it.

pass. seems like a young kid had the car, debadged it, front lip only. then got hit, fixed it for cheap and selling it, might be do to the trans started slipping on him.
the ACURA and 3.2tl type s is way off. trunk is not sitting right on the drivers side. exhaust is bent. BIG PASS. paint those out to the seller and tell him 5k or gtfo

Why not buy one for 7-8 that has no issues like this? Seems like you dont want to listen but just say you wanna buy buy buy. If thats the case, there was really no need for this thread.

Heck, if you don't mind accidents, I'll sell you my freaking car for $6,000.00 but I don't recommend buying it in less you don't mind doing some body work lol. I also don't recommend this car, I have a feeling it was driven hard and the work on it was clearly half assed.
