hehe just wondering what you guys think if the two generations went head to head. i know the 2.5L would probably get our a$$'s kicked, but who knows. anyone wanna give it a go?

 

I had a Vigor which had the same engine as the 2.5TL. Same horsepower and torque rating and I believe the 1st Gen TLs were a little heavier than my Vigor.

As much as I enjoyed my previous car, your're right, it would get smoked against a 2nd TL. Let's not even discuss the TL-S.

 

yeah i know we probably get smoked, but would like to know how we'd hold up against you guys. i thought of this cause at the SF meet i thought i did pretty well keeping up with the 2nd gen TL's and CL's. granted it wasn't on straight aways, but the handeling on our cars are pretty good.

 

Agree. I always liked how my Vigor handled, primarily because it was so low to the ground. As for the 1st gen TLs, if I remember correctly, the 2.5 had a firmer suspension than the 3.2TL.

I think they were marketing the 2.5TL as the sporty version, while the 3.2TL was the luxury version with the softer ride.

 

yeah and i lowered my car with springs so the handeling was even better. i was on the I80 the other night and just happen to meet up with someone on the board, "sammy". we were driving down I80 at about 90mph. i was on the far right lane and he was in the far left lane. we were both coming up on a fixed up neon with a body kit and a huge a$$ exhaust. we couldn't resist blowing past him. it was pretty cool cause both of us were going pretty fast and the neon didn't know what hit him. i had to exit soon so had to slow down, but the neon tried to race SAMMY, but i'm pretty sure he took care of him.
