1st big road trip
Thought I share this story with you all.
I just came back from an 16 hour road trip in TL. This is my first long mountain drive in it. I drove from Vancouver to Barkerville, BC (8hrs) last weekend. I was able to really put the TL through its paces in different terrain, uphill, downhill, curves, straightaways. The Sportshift really came in handy. On straight aways it had gobs of power. Passing semis and travel trailers were a breeze on those tight two lane mountain roads. Just use the Sport Shift to gear down just below 4300rpm and hammer the gas pedal to set off the V-TEC and in 3-4 seconds you'd be in front. Passing 3,4 cars in a row on a straight aways was no problem either. The growl of V-TEC is so sweeet. The biggest weakness IMO with the TL is the stock tires. Many of you have commented on them. I found myself white knuckling around several tight turns. On the flip side the stock Michelins MXVs did provide a quite, comfortable ride. Overall I would say the TL sure lived up to its name. TL=Touring Luxury.

No kidding, I too was up to Whistler last weekend. Well, actually I went all the way up to Lillooet Lake. I saw two TLs on the way back. One was nighthawk black with 2 people in it. It turned off at Brackendale, and the other one was a fire pepper red with 4 or 5 people in it. I passed that one along the first passing lane going south from Whistler. Speed, were you in the black car?
