Paul,

I just purchased a 1999 3.2 TL with Navi last week and the dealer is telling me the latest edition from Alpine has not been released and we will be waiting indefinitely. I just got the car and me and my husband are extremely anxious to try it out and I'm tired of seeking the "No Hard Disk" message and not being able to reset the clock because it has pre-daylight savings time on it. Are those drives still available with the CD of all regions. I'll definitely pay you the money for it!!!

Please let me know, Thanks!

I got the Region 7 files from Paul. If anyone needs them, just email me and I'll send a CD or FTP them to you at no charge.

Just purchased a 99 tl with navi and the disk is bad. I've purchased a 512mb CF card and the pcmcia adapter and was wandering if anyone could tell me where I can get the files for the southeast region (region 8 i think). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Since Acura stopped updating the Navigation CDs as of 2002, I'm curious if anyone has tried more recent BMW data (from NavTech CDs) in an Acura navigation system. Paul listed that as one option at the start of this thread, but I haven't found anyone who has yet tried it.

For starters, does anyone out there even have a BMW NavTech CD that so we could compare the file listing to see if the files are even close to the same as the files used on the Acura CD? I've seen a few BMW CDs for sale on eBay, but am not that interested in dropping $60 for the experiment...

What is the latest version you have of California?
What will it take to get FTP access to download it?

Thanks.

i know this is an old thread but here is my issue. I just moved from CA to CO, i have the NM005 file now but when i tried to put the drive into 2 different laptops the drive was tooooooo big. is there an adaptor that anyone knows that i can get? the laptops were about 1.5-2 years old or so, do newer laptops come with a larger slot? does anyone know of a USB to PCMCIA adaptor? thanks in advance

you have to have a slot with two pcmcia card slots on top of each other to make it fit.

nikku,.. it's funny that you asked this question, becuse I started a new thread about an hour before you did on the same exact question. My next question is how is a card reader going to help with the oversized drive. If you're buying it online, will you include a link to where you found it?

Cool y2kardell

Hey Guys-
I have a 99 Acura TL with the Navi with the hard drive. I was wondering has anyone ever heard of anyone taking the new DVD's for the current systems and copying the files off of them and trying to load them onto the hard disks for the older Navi systems???? Just an intelligent thought.......... Anyone ever heard of this???????????

Yes it has been tried and it can't be done. The solution is to swap out the limited disk unit for a dvd unit.

I just bought an old 1999 TL with Navi but the harddrive has failed. Would somebody be kind enough to provide me with some NE maps?

Let me know what I can do for you in exchange.

My email: gtg876s@mail.gatech.edu

Thanks in advance
