1999 Acura TL does not start immediately

My Acura TL has 105 K miles on it. Recently, I changed Timing Belt/Water Pump and also installed new spark plugs and cleaned the Engine.

Past few weeks, I noticed that the car sometimes would not start on the first attempt. It would churn several times and then finally start.

I thought replacing the spark plugs should make it better (but it seems to have made it worse).

Any thoughts?

Thanks

SR.

Did it happen right after you had your car serviced? If that was not the case, then you might want to check your battery. Does it run smooth after it got started? I could be hoses are not tightly put back.

Good info. Thanks.

I seem to recall this happened once just before the spark plugs were changed as well.

You think it may be the battery?

Did you do this work yourself?

How was the engine cleaned? If a foaming engine cleaner was used, moisture may have gotten in an electrical connection when the engine was rinsed. That can cause starting problems.

And does the engine run smoothly once it's started? If not, perhaps one of the new spark plugs was fouled during the installation.

Did you keep the make and model of the spark plug the same?
