1989 Honda accord, need help
hey guys,
my cousin needs a question answered. He just bought a car off my uncle, an '89 accord, and everything is great with the car except one thing. It's a 5 speed manual transmission and when he shifts it into 5th gear, it acts as if he's in neutral. It seems that the gear is not engaging properly. Do you know how much this is going to cost to fix? and what is causing this?
lemme know
thanks

does it go into gear?(fifth gear spot) or does it grind going in? id guess it needs some tranny work.

I suspect it doesn't make any awkward grinds, it simply doesn't engage into gear. It feels as if you put the car in neutral, and when you press the gas, the engine revs up.
any ideas?

if it goes into the 5th gear slot but nothing happens its the tranny, if it simply doesnt go in it would be a syncro problem.
