In contrast, Acura's teaser for the coming replacement of the TL sedan couldn't have been more different, all lightness and open space, with clever glass-to-glass side window fittings that conceal the center roof pillar. Even so, the Accord-based TL concept toes the line on Acura's conservative design philosophy _ recognizably new and attractive enough, but nothing brave. The ``ultimate athlete'' styling theme is expressed in a deep character line that runs down the flank of the car (and neatly incorporates some very German-looking door handles) and a rear roof pillar whose forward edge is nearly vertical. The next TL will be exclusive to North America and will be available with multichannel DVD audio 5.1 and Bluetooth telephone connectivity.
