'03 Tranny problems

Anyone with a '03 TL-S have any tranny problems? I've heard there were about 4. Are there any more?

When is your production date? My production date is July 2002. My tranny seems to be ok so far.

In your 2003 TL-S, what were some of the symptoms you were experiencing before the tranny failed?

I have an '03 TL-S and brought my car in a few weeks ago because 1st to 2nd gear and 2nd to 3rd gear shifted hard when cold. The dealer explained it on the paperwork as a slight "flair when shifting" and flushed the tranny fluid. It seemed fine for about a week, but now I have that "flair" yet again. Also, the other day I was entering a highway.....I noticed a car coming up fast, so I hit the pedal to the floor. The car took a huge pause and then shifted down 2 gears, screaming before shifting to the next gear.... It seemed very odd to me the way it reacted!!!

Acura just released a statement indicating symptoms. That letter was copied into the Tranny sticky on the top of the forum. Most 2003's are fine.... however, some early ones are affected. Check Acura's site or the sticky topic in here for more info....

Let's keep this topic related to the 2003 tranny replacements only. Everything else should be discussed in the sticky at the top of the forum. Most questions have been answered in there already....

I have a 2003. Bought in June. When I cruise down the road in 5th. gear at 45 mph it kind of skips at 1500 rpm. Is this a problem?

Thanks. The production date is on the driver side door. I guess mine is okay with a 1000 miles on it. Wish I had seen this board earlier before buying car cause I would have made the sales person give me the extended warranty for free.
