03 TLS VS 00 BMW 325 4dr Auto

I've got a joker in my area that thinks his 2000/2001? BMW 325 4DR Auto is the hottest thing in town.

Since I know his car is stock and my is stock as well. I know I should be able to beat him with ease.

We've got 260HP/232 torque 3558lb

They've got 184HP/175 torque 3219lb

We should still be able to smoke him with ease right?

I know our car weighs a little more, but we out HP/Torque him easily.

The joker is claiming Japanese HP are inferior to European HP, so our 260 is equivlent to 200 or less in BMW HP. I am not sure what is the truth behind it.

Anyway, can't wait to smoke his ass.

I usually have no beef with people driving BMW, but the joker always want to show it off as if it was designed by god himself or something.

He wants to show off that he is rich and can drive a BMW. But the truth is, he co-ops it with his brother. (paying half each and share it to drive on alternating weeks)

I did a search on his car and compared it to TLS

http://www.carsdirect.com/researchce...,USB10BMC141A0

TLS should be able to smoke this joker.

I think he just envies my new toy.

I used to drive a chevy suv with top speed of about 89mph. He used to always try to "Hot dog" while driving next to me on highway. He beats me on all straight aways, but I smoked him on all turns.

We were driving home from Long Island once. He had 3 passenger including himself and took the HOV lane to over take me, and I took the regular lane. But Long Island is know for their highways being the world's largest parking lot, I swerve in and out of traffic and still beat him by a good half hour to an hour for a 20 mile drive.

I am looking forward to smoking his butt on a straightaway though. That will finally show him that his entry level BMW stands for Big Money Wasted.

Looking forward to smoking his butt

Not surprising, you gotta a couple of those by where I live in Long Island, they got that, I drive a Bimmer attitude, but I could care less, I'd rock the TLS over his 325 any day!

i've got a '03 330ci and a 99tl. it really has nothing to do with speed when you're in a bmw. the fit, finish, feel, and overall quality is far superior to my 99's

My 99 with mods listed below, took a 330 off the line and on the highway till 130(where we cut off). 325's are slow as hell. My lil cuz had one and stepped to the M3. His 325 was a great looking car, but he had no chance in hell getting me especially if it were a light to light race and with my mods it wouldve been over. I now dont go near the M.

I don't doubt that german engineering = great cars.

I don't doubt M3 and ups really kick ass.

What I don't like is some dude who got an "entry level" bimmer thinking he is king of the road or something. STOCK + AUTO!

It must be a NY thing or something, people who buy a little nice car thinks they are the king or something.

Back when I visited So. Cal, I think no one even cares or bothers to even think "entry level" bimmers are anything other than "entry level".

They dont make the 318 anymore because they suck (correct me if I'm wrong). I dont get some of these snobs who drive BMW 325s and even the Mini Cooper S recently. What makes them think they can keep up when a 330 is more in our league? I wish I could cream another 325 or a Mini this week but apparently I have smashed them all. Now when I see one on the road they usually bow down and give my S some respect. Gone are the days of being cut off or tailed or revved at. That's why I am seriously thinking about the new TL. I love sleeper looks.

Maybe he is rich as an older 325 auto would need some $$$ mods to even keep up...

please, a fully modded 325 will still be no match. For some reason BMW's dont take to normal bolt ons that well, they do like forced induction though, but no one offers it for the 325 anyway.

It’s unfortunate that these posers make us true driving enthusiasts who happen to like BMW’s look bad. I like my wife’s TL-S though. Can’t beat it for the money.

A stock 325 just doesn't have the beans to keep up with a TLS. Especially an auto.

With that said, they're great cars, and I agree with Delta447 about the a-holes out there making all BMW drivers look bad.

There are a lot of mods out there for the E46 325's from the bolt-on stuff, to chips. As for superchargers, I'm not sure. It doesn't make sense though when for less money you could move up to a 330...

Let's make it more interesting, race for $$$.

Since he is talking so much $hit and thinking his car is god's gift then he shouldn't have a problem putting $$$ where his mouth is.

apparently his car is god's gift to the automotive world. since every review loves the 3 series and rates it higher when compared to the tl maybe bmw is better than acura. still doesn't justify that he acts like an a$$, but maybe the reviews get his head big, thinking he can take on a tl in a race.

Maybe it's where you live, but I would never have imagine the hotbed of street racing was Tennessee. I drive both a TL and 330 in the New York area but, honestly, I have never had anyone "want a piece of me". You've got to stop inadvertantly reving your engine at stoplights or something.

hmm well i like bimmers. i especially admire the 330i. cept i really would prefer my 00 TL. more my style i guess :p

but look at it this way, if something goes wrong with the bimmer, it takes an arm and a leg to fix it up. whereas acura parts cost much less and there are more do it yourself types of mods.

I have the automobile mag where they rate 10 cars under 30K (why they go sticker I will never know - people are getting TL-S navi's for under 30 now ).

Anyhooo- they had a stock, bone stock BMW 325 - to get it under 30K and it came in #2 (or 3 I can't remember) right behind the TSX !

I doubt that my 2K1 330 Auto would beat a TL-S; the 325 Auto wouldn't even come close.

Yes, his car is stock. Nothing special to it. Just some one who got the "I bought an import" disease.

The same guy only wants to drink imported beer because it makes him "hip" or something.

The weekend is coming up soon. I will have new news to post.
