Hey all. I got a '03 TL-S.

A question in regards to the heated seats.

The passenger side, I know only the bottom heats up, and the back does NOT heat up (due to the side airbag I believe)

The driver's side, the bottom and the back heat up correct? The back on the driver's side BARELY heats up. It only feels warm to your barehand (so you're not really gonna feel it thru your clothes).

So my question is: Does the back of the driver's side heat up? And if it does, how warm/hot does it get compared to your bottom seat?

I brought it into the dealer, and they told me this is normal. If that's the case there would really be no point in even putting a heating element in the back of the seat.

Any tips would be appreciated.

I thought only the seats heat up, not the back, for both driver/passenger. It's too warm to try it now. Any other comments?

You need to get the upper heating element replaced. Same thing happened to me. Dealer replaced the upper heating pad.

I'm fairly certain that the passenger side seatback DOESN'T heat up. This is due to the placement of some airbag sensor. It's stated in the manual - check it out.
