i'm still a little confused w/this whole trans problem... i called in and they said my tranny wasnt affected. I have an 03 TL-S. is it true it was some and not all?

The dealer for my car basically said "we'll warranty the tranny if you do a timing belt job here". The odo was at 109k when the tranny failed.

We're 3K miles and 7 months away from the 3 year/36k mile warranty on the remaned tranny now.

all of them are affected to some point (the later ones seem to be a little better then the earlier ones), but anyways honda had to create a cut-off point and us with the later 03's got screwed on it kinda

all of the have gen have the recall to install an external oil jet kit to spray trans fluid at the 2nd gear shaft- located under the normal filler hole

the other part with 109 is a court case lawsuit against honda for early failures
They needed a VIN to settle the case- so one was picked
It in no way was a change or fix to the trans

The ones replaced after mid 2005 seem to have a different new case with better oil flow- as they are doing much better than originals and pre 05 replacements

If you are `not covered vin' it simply means extra work on your part to get `Goodwill warranty`- out of acuras pocket instead of yours
Does not mean your trans is better than the next or prior one
