After seeing these picture, I'm speechless (not in a good way). Hope they'll do better with the TL.

shiet son!!! damn, thats def not what the final one will loook like. the new accord shouldnt be too extreme (aka those taillights). the new accord has to be a combination of many favorable cars on the road, so Honda can make sure a lot of ppl will like the new Accord... considering its one of the most top selling cars, if not the most.

Those angles aren't very good for getting a good feel for what the car looks like, but I don't think it's that bad. To me, it looks like there's something extra under the bra on that one pic -- a few extra bulges that don't look quite right. And the taillights look like they're being disguised somehow. I do like wheels and the real headrests in the back. But I definitely like my TL better.

I think you are right. They can't make them look like that for real!

that would be a pretty consistent disguise job on multiple cars. I think that this is what the tail lights are going to look like for real.

IMO, those taillights are definitely disguised.

Bra's, and often fascia coverup (Headlights/taillights/grill) are typical disguises that companies use during real world testing.

I would like to think that those taillights are disguised, but when I see a few cars in a row with the same design it looks like those are for real.

OK. Here’s my take. Look at the rear of the Accord in the 2nd picture. The one by its self and facing left. See the cut line or the shadow at the edge of the rear quarter panel. This is where the taillight will wrap around. If you look at the taillights of all four cars, you’ll notice they are slightly different. You can see the continuation of this shadow on the three cars facing right. I think the taillights will be a broad band across the entire trunk. Also, the headlights will be pulled back up on the fender. It will look like the ES300 and Camry. Look at the front view. See how the orange reflector is angled? Notice how the headlight disappears under the bra? These will be large headlights. With that said, the designers would not have paired them with tiny taillights. It just doesn’t balance out.

The rear end looks sort of like a last-gen Civic 4 door. Anyone else see that?

Surely they will do something else with the lights at the rear.

Hey guys.. I touched up the photo a little on Photoshop... how do i attach it??

I hope this ain't the accord... what happened to those COOL drawings from Motor Trend a few months ago. This is not a step forward at all. It is a combination of a camry, IS, CTS and and Avalon... are you sure this ain't a toyota???

From the tail lights forward, it looks just like the current Accord sedan to me!

More facts to support it's Honda Accord:

A. These are shot in Ohio with MFG plates on the car according to the photographer. And the Japanese engineers did like him hanging around with a camera.

B. It's reliable enough that Thecarconnection.com has posted it as spy shot.

C. Accord is the only mid-size sedan left that need a face lift in North America. And we all already know what Mazada 6 looks like.

D. Official launch is Jun 17th for the Accord which is about 3 weeks away. The 01 Civic is also spotted at around the same time frame before launch.

EEEEYuuuuuu!

And I thought the current Accord was bland. I apologize to my wife and all other Accord fans, your Accords are great-looking in comparison to this travesty of design....I hope the new TL is not this jacked-up looking.:yack:
In fact, my wife says that the shape of the rear is too much like a Caddy Eldorado.

I wish these pictures were fakes...

Thumbs down

I will not be purchasing any honda autos if the new accord really looks like that. It really does look like a civic and an IS300 had sex and that's the mutant baby that came out...

anyway, i'm gonna go masturbate to more tastefull accord pics, like the 3rd gen 95 accord

It looks like the big Saturn...especially when the rear tailight camouflage comes off and the lights come to a point as the wrap around the fenders.

Maybe I'm the out man out here, but I like what I see. As for some of the details, I am likewise assuming that these are disguised test mules. I find my TL a bit too big, especially in length. It looks like the trunk overhang has been clipped a bit with some more bustle added to the trunk lid.

I want to reserve judgement until the final product is available for a clear look, but what I see so far in the spy picks I don't like. Of course, I am not the average Accord buyer, anyway.

Well looks like it will be as exciting to look at as the current model. Who the hell designs these bland cars, old people in a retirement home or people in the witness protection program?

Don't matter, it will sell all 450,000 copies cause it's an Accord (tied with the Camry as the best family cars period).

I was just looking at the 6th gen sedan and realized how old, and outdated it looked. This one has a newer look to it, front reminds me of the new Altima, rear of the Civic from 2 gens ago, but it definitely looks like a fresh, newly designed car. I'll wait till I see some undisguised pics, to see the details in the headlighst grill and tails, but I like the overall profiles.

No flame, but are we exactly sure that this spy pic is a Honda? With everyone saying it resembles an Altima, it perhaps maybe a Nissan (the wheels look like something Nissan made for the Sentra).

I like it, they probably are just covering the tailights so people don't know how they look like. They left a little bit out so is still legal to drive.

I like it.

I agree myself, Mercedes has done a great job of transferring the old E-class look (which, IMO, is abslolutely great) to a more advanced look, if you will. BTW-It will be the E320 and E500, no more 430's. I can't wait to see what the E55 AMG will look like, too bad it'll still probably be trounced by the M5

However, I can't say the same about what Merc has done to the next CLK, they tried to carry that old design over to the new car, but it looks like a f'd up version of the old one to me. No V8 option either.

My dad who is a longtime Honda supporter, was already lamenting to me about the shapes of the current generation Accord and Civic (yes, the newly designed in 2001 Civic). It looks like his lamentations are going to continue!

What is Honda thinking anyways?

Damn dude I agree, the new one looks like it's for women and people in retirement homes. The only thing I like about the new one over the current CLK is the frameless windows that all drop down.
