Just thought u would be interested in this. A few weeks ago, i went up against a 200? Mustang GT Auto(im not sure what year, but it was the new body style). Anyways, i was driving down broadway and in front of me was a mustang GT. He was driving all crazy like he wanted to race(so i happily obliged ) We both made a right turn onto belleview, me in the left lane, and he being in the right. As i pulled up next to him, we both gunned it almost at the exact same time. All i can say is that i was pleasantly suprised. We stayed side by side from about 20mph to 60mph. Neither he nor i was able to gain any ground. Personally, i believe i would have been able to gain just a little bit, but having 2 other ppl in the car plus a 30lb speaker box in the trunk didnt really help much. As i said before, i was really suprised that i was able to stay right next to him. If it had been a stick (or a cobra) i would have lost by a long shot.

Sorry 4 the sporadic posts, but school has been a ***** this semester, so i dont have that much time on my hands (why must C++ be so freakin hard?!?!?!!)

try a Financial Management test on wed., Management 3335 test on thurs., and a Geography 2301 test on fri...I'm swapped for this whole week, but yeah...I'm not so surprised..I hung with a Mustang GT (auto and new body style) as well and was too surprised but I knew I could have taken him if I had the jump to start with and I was by myself...Good race though..maybe next time you might be able to take him...who knows??? hahahahah:devil: :flamer:

Im 100% positive it was a V8( Dual exhaust, larger wheels, GT emblem. The most ovbious factor was the sound. There's no mistaking a V8 for a 6. That thing was loud!)

with a TL-S you should be able to take GT's auto without too much problem. I think they have a 4 spd auto tranny...

i tried to take a cobra on once... top down, some blonde in the driver seat with hair flying in the wind...
i came up revved up my engine.. and whooofff... she was gone...

i doubt this highly, i am tied with a mustang gt up to 85, then which i totally put in destruction ot the GT. HOWEVER, this is with 2k GS4. I should beat them by alot more, but i cant get a good launch, the tires are as bald as they can get!!!!!!!
Still, my tls feels alot slower than a GT, and I doubt i can keep up with one. Do you have any mods,? If you have headers, then i have no doubt. Otherwise, i highly doubt this.

A budy of mine has a 96 GT Mustang, it's a V8 but only has
200 hp, no mods. Do you guys think a TLS can take it?

The only mod i have is a removed resonator(if thats even a mod)
And YES, it was a V8. I am restating my previous remarks when i say that the decal, wheels, dual exhaust, and sound proved it was a v8. Have you ever heard a stock mustang v6 with dual exhaust?? it sounds nothing whatsoever like a v8 GT. Again, im sure this particular car was an auto, which is almost certainly the reason i was able to hang with him.

p.s. And yes the guy WAS racing. he pretty much started the whole incident.


i have been trying to find numbers for the newer GT's but all i can find are times for the 1998 mustang gt.

personally, these numbers seem a little slow, especially for the manual trans. NE1 have any actual specs on the newer models?

I've raced a few Mustangs, old to new, V6 and V8 and they have never embarrased me. Matter of fact, I have won all the races. However, I have not raced a Cobra, but I'm sure the Cobra will take off like a rocket.
