02 TL-S Front Lip question

I want to add the lip kit to my car at some point but I have a problem with the front bumper cover. When I dollied the car home the lower part of the cover dragged on the dolley and cracked at the bottom.

My question is: How much of the front bumper cover does a lip cover?

If it covers say, 2 or 3 inches up from bottom I won't need to replace the bumper cover itself as the lip kit should cover the damage.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the replies. It sounds like the lip will cover the damage on my car. I"ll post a pic shortly to show the damage.

hmmm looks like it'll just cover it barely. the part right above the upper ridge on the crack line looks like it'll show. idk about you, but i'd try to get it fixed (maybe not new bumper, but fixed) then get the kit

Looks like you can bondo it and repaint, then get the kit.

I thought the lip kit covers up to just below the fog light?

the kit will cover 100% of the damage, it actually goes inside the opening above the damage and into the opening directly below the fog lamps
