So along with about a billion other people, i ventured to the LA Auto show last nite. It was fun! oh....yeah, it was cool. WAAAY too many people though. They were all crowded around the new TL and RL too. hard to take pics. So i ended up with 7 "good" pictures of it
Here is the link: http://albums.photopoint.com/j/Album...484&a=10811442

enjoy!

(i will post the rest of my autoshow pics in a while.)

Thanks.
My review...
Oversized CL grill (ugh!)
CL-S rims (cool)
Inspire Tails (cool)
New Projections headlights( Cool but too big!)
New HP (definitely cool!)
Fog lights (good idea but looks goofy)
Would I trade my 99 TL with my mods for this? Not unless the price was really good. Mine already looks almost like this anyways.

just my 2 cents

------------------
1999 Satin Silver TL Dunlop SP9000 215-45/17-mounted on CL-S 17" Rims
H&R Springs-Axiss MetalMasterPads-Crossdrilled Rotors
-Inspire Tailights-20/30/40 tint

Y2k S2K Honda Roadster
- Mingster Aeroscreen, Smokin Front mesh Grill, Clear Sidemarkers...

Were you able to see if the foglights are actually foglights not roadlamps?

Nope. i really didnt have the time inside the car to really play with anything. There were people waiting to get in after me, so i just got in and got out. i wanted to flip the light switch, but never got the chance. there was someone who posted about this in the CL Forum, of thie board, here is the post: http://www.acura-tl.com/ubb/Forum15/HTML/002337.html

it doesn't look like the headlights are projection, looks the same as the Cl-S. I also like the way the fogs are, they look better than the roadlamps of the cl-s. And that oversized grill, its not really my taste either but i have a feeling all the future acuras are gonna be tradmarked with that

UGH! Thats the part I hated the most. Headlights look a bit bubbled-eyed too. Not sure if i like the larger front grill and light area. the bulging hood is ok but...not sour grapes, but I do like our version better.

Things I noticed studying the TL-S in person at LA Autoshow...

1. Huge CL-S headlights (yikes)
2. Two-section front parking lights. Top has clear lenz w/ amber bulb. Bottom is amber lenz with clear bulb.
3. Nice Inspire tails w/ no amber part visible from outside (it probably lites up amber)
4. Inspire foglight switch's location is the opposite. Instead of the switch being the first one from the right (of the three switches on the dash), TL-S has the fog switch on the left.
5. 17" CL-S rims.
6. Factory fogs... I couldn't tell if they were fogs or driving lamps.

Overall, it looks alright. Despite its 260 hp engine, I don't think I would trade my TL in for it.

if they had a switch i think its a foglight, roadlamps don't have a switch to turn it on

You're right... those are foglights because they had the fog switch.

What I meant to say is that I'm not sure if those fog lights are bright enough to be real fogs lights. Or they could be some weak auxiliary driving lamps which Acura conveniently named foglights.

Thanks White 2K01 CL
for getting some pics at the LA car show. It's still hard to tell exactly how the car will look like as in person. It is different, but still like our TL.

honestly, i like the new "bolder" look of the new TL better. the current design is nice, but to me, the front is what really bothered me about the car. the headlights are too small, so what if it looks like the CL...we have one. all BMW's have a similar look, why not acura?

oh yeah, and that blue! wow! i want one...

Car looks nice.
That blue color is damn nice.
Grill looks fine to me.
The headlights do have a sort of weird appearance. They are kind of big and are maybe a little too rounded and stick out too much. But they don't look that bad.
Is the next gen. TL going to come with Inspire taillights stock?
Drop it, tint the windows 5%, and rims and that is a nice car.

You know what? The front grille and headlight looks almost like the MDX. The MDX is the same with the half amber turn signal.

Now what is Mugen going to do with the front grille for the 99-01 TLs?
