01 tl 6 speed swap

Hey guys, im on this page for my father.
recently he bought an 01 tl and it had less than 100k miles on it. Well hes now wanting to go 6 spd swap. Im just wondering what all needs to be done or if i can find a 3.2 cl and just swap the 6spd into it and go

It's quite a bit of work, and as time goes by becomes more and more increasingly difficult to find the parts to do it. there were very few (relatively) 6 speeds made and it's quite old.

it IS still feasible; though I think it would be more worthwhile just to buy a 2 speed outright.

Pretty much your only option is to buy a wrecked 2003 Acura CL Type-S 6MT parts car and swap over the transmission, linkages, wiring harnesses, and ECU. This job is not for the faint of heart or the light of wallet.

As @whitetiger5 hinted, it will probably be better, faster, and cheaper to sell your TL and buy a 2004-2006 TL 6MT.

Here are two 'swappable' CL-S6's, if seriously interested:

Although, this 2002 looks mislabeled.

lol...let me know where you might be able to find a 2 speed. I gotta stop this quarantine drinking.

nice finds! if they are close enough, just a matter of work.

Funny thing, one of my first cars had a 2-Speed "Slip and Slide PowerGlide" transmission.
