01/02 MDX steering wheel - does it fit a 99TL?

I need a definitive answer. No "I think it does". Someone that has done it please respond.

Thanks.

I have a MDX steering wheel on my 00 TLP. The key is to look for right center piece. Check out Darkshear's posted picture in this thread.

The only issue I had is two screws holding the balancing rubber, the ones came with TL are too small to mount the balancing rubber to the MDX steering wheel. I solved by re-using old Torx screws from TL since the MDX steering wheel came with two new Torx screws.

tunedTL is right, i also have an 01/02 MDX steering wheel on my 01 TL. The screws on the balancing rubber are too small, but you can use your old airbag torx screw; they fit perfectly. I had parchment interior, therefore the mdx steering leather's color is a little bit off. If you can live with it, then go ahead and get it. For me, I cann't stand it and probadly take it off my car.
P.S. : getting the steering wheel out is a pain in the ass even with the steering wheel puller.

You can take out the leather part from your old steering wheel and put on the new one. But it's a hell of a project. I'm doing that right now but considering giving up since it takes too much time peeling the leather off.

Our dash is two tone so it is not a big deal that MDX steering wheel makes it a two tone colored steering wheel. I have fern interior and a darker shape black/green, which MDX color matches perfectly with (because all Honda color are the same). Many people now want two tone leather seat, it takes a while to adjust something different but I honestly don't think two toned steering wheel is bad looking, as long as it matches with the rest of the interior.

I have an '01 MDX wheel in my '99. There was a slight difference between the two (I think it might have been the shape of a couple of holes in the backing plate), but it fits fine. I had the dealer install it, and they checked with Acura to make sure it wouldn't cause warranty issues. Everything checked out.
