$10 off Pep Boys coupon & a brake question

Wuz up ziners, well its time again for new rotors and pads all the way around. My head is so dizzy from reading all the threads on brakes. Im not trying to spend a lot of money on my brakes cause I have so many things that need to be done. I was thinking about going with Pro Stop rotors, and Pro Stop Ceramic pads.

Now I know Pro Stop is made by RAYBESTOS , so i figured this set up would be a little step up from stock. i cant afford what i really want Rotora, and hawk pads, but anyone running these pads or rotors? I figured with the coupon i can just go in there buy each thing one at a time and get $10 bucks off each. So i would save around $60 total if I did it this way.

I went with Akebono pads and brembo blanks last round and one rotor warped on me which i still have one, and the pads were metal to metal with in 16 months. I since then put Pro Stop pads and have held up for the past 2 years. I dont drive rough and I dont brake hard so top of the line isnt for me.

I have front rotors from My 01 CLs for sale in the BM.

Rotors have less than 10k on them, replaced by PO just before I bought the car.

i wouldnt go cheap on something like brakes. if your doing every day driving and driving normally. than what you have listed is alright.

your coupon is for $10 off your whole purchase. not $10 off each item. unless its stated differently on the coupon

If you read my post I said i would go in there and buy "ONE" item each time i went there. Everything im buying is over $30 so 6 items saves me $60. I dont really think Pro Stop is the bottom of the barrel and it aint the top in the middle maybe equal to or greater than OEM.

They're about the same as OEM. If you get a good price go for it.

Prostop Ceramic pads are made by Satisfied. Not sure about their semi-metallic pads, but the part numbers and features remind of Raybestos Professional Grade.

Are you talking about install, cause if you are i completly agree? I heard many many storys about there install dept. As far as buying stuff from them there prices seem to be a little cheaper then Advanced Auto. I do have a NAPA up the street and im gonna call them just to see how much the parts i need will cost.

Iv read about replacing the rear and how much of a PITA it is to mess with the Ebrake pads or what not. I cant seem to find a DIY on that, does anyone have any further info on this, also what type of brake grease are you all using, and would it be ok to just use the stuff that comes with the pads? BTW guys the coupons work great, use will you can.

^^yes, absolutely. I had a commuter i didn't feel messing with and i took it to them. rotors kept warping all the time, three sets of rotors and pads later, i gave up and went to brakes plus..turns out caliper parts were bad..they were replaced and i ran on those brakes for 2 years after that with zero issues..i went back to pep boys, showed them what brakes plus did and asked them why they couldn't figure it out..they refunded me the original purchase of rotors/pads, so they made good..but still it was a hassle for real
