Suggestion on buying '05 OEM wheels
I need to buy 2 OEM wheels for my '05 RL. Long story but I purchased the car used and they came w/ run flats. The front tires are worn down and they need to be replaced. I am going to just buy new wheels and put the standard tires on. I have no interest in keeping the run flats.
I need a suggestion on the best place/price to buy replacement wheels.
And if anyone wants to buy 2 runflat wheels I have them for sale.
Thanks.

What kind of Run Flats do you have?
Michelin PAX run flat system came with 2006-2008 cars only.
But if you happen to have PAX anyway, you may wish to consider 4 wheels and tires. The OEMS are 17" 50 series tires and the PAX are 18" (metric equivalent) 45 series, plus the PAX are about 50 pounds heavier in total unsprung weight (each PAX unit weighs 75 lbs). There is a real difference in the way the car handles with lighter wheels and tires. If you do anything, make sure at least the run flats are on the same axle.
Ebay is a good way to buy 17" OEM wheels.
You may wish to consider OEM 18" wheels, because 18" rubber is a lot cheaper, in general, with a lot more choices, than the 17" stock size.

They put the Michelins on the car.I'm going to order refabbed wheels and put on the correct 17" tires.
Does anyone know the best place for me to sell the PAX wheels(they are in very good condition). I'd like to recoup the money I have to spend to put on the proper wheels/tires.
Thanks.

Burning Brakes
Best place to seel PAX wheels is probably eBay. They do come up once in a while but usually don't sell as the car with PAX is pretty rare and most folks are more interested in de-PaXing than re-PAXing. If you do de-PAX, you'll need to get a spare and related parts as well as new lugnuts as the standard wheels and PAX wheels use different ones. If you car is an '05 however, you may have a spare since PAX wasn't available until the '06 model year. I guess Craigs List is also an option.

new tires/wheels 2005 RL-runfalt problem
Hey, I had the same problem with my 05 RL..I bought it and took it home never thinking to look, as I knew they did not come with run flats..whoops....after some investigation through sources, I found that the 1st lease owner dropped off the car at the dealership upon lease end, and the used car mgr apparently thought his 06 tradein would sell quicker without the runflats on it (more common practice than you might think). They swapped them out before the 05 (mine soon to be) was picked up for the Honda Finance auction for resale to another dealer. They even swapped the spare and foam holder, and took out the window sticker (monroney) and threw it away to hide the evidence! Anyway I ended up buying a spare from a junk yard and some wheels on an online site. Lots of hassle. I even called Acura client services to no avail. The TPS sensors are the same so they work, but the Michelin tires are very expensive! plus weight! it made me angry. Good luck!

AWD requires 4 wheels to be replaced
When I went to get my tires replaced at americas tire in Cali, the manager said that they will not replace 2 wheels due to liability issues with AWD components failing. You may want to call tire store before hand and check on this.
