New Rims? Tire Sensors?

Hey Guys - this is probably a pretty basic question for most of you (I'm new to this thread). I have a 2010 RL - and I want to get a nice set of rims. I guess I am a little unsure how the sensors would work. In other words, if I buy new rims - will they automatically fit the tire sensors of my current tires. When I get winter tires - do I have to buy a new set of sensors so that I don`t have a dash light on all the time. Do all new rims fit tire sensors.

Thanks in advance for the assistance. Sorry for the basic question.

One TPMS unit is required for each wheel. Typically, TPMS are extra cost items at installation. Under certain circumstances, such as purchasing wheels from Acura, TPMS in included in the price of the wheel. Do your research.

You should also find out how much your installer charges for TPMS units, and compare prices to what you can get over the internet from Acura or independent TPMS dealers...

While you do not have to install TPMS units, it is advisable to do so just to prevent the inconvenience of MID alarms every time you drive the car.

Good luck

If you want to get rid of your original rims, let me know! I'm trying to find a set of original OEM 2009 or 2010 RL rims.

Do not forget to ask the seller if the wheels are TPMS compatible. Most are, but not all.

Thanks - but I think I will keep the originals as winter rims.
