Need Tire Brand Advice for RonJon Rims

Hello folks - I just purchased 19 inch Legend rims by RonJon for my 2006 Acura RL. I plan on putting 245/40/19 as recommended but I am not too sure of what brand tires to get. I will take them off after summer b/c of the snow but I am sure it will rain here in the summer so I want something that will be good for the rain as well. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I went with Goodyear Eagle F1 GS D3's. Very sticky in wet and dry conditions but also very a quiet and smooth riding tire for low profile high performance rubber.

you're wheels shipped out today, 38mm offset, and they look great. Make sure yo post pics after the install. I suggest Toyo proxes 4.

Nice look forward to receving them. I could only find TOYO Proxes T1r for 245/40/19...is that the same thing?

I will also take a look at the Goodyear eagles.

Thanks for the advice!

Treblig - I see the Eagle's but they are two with different prices. I am looking on discounttiredirect.com. Which option did you go with?

Here is the info:
1. Tire Size 245/40ZR-19 XL 98Y B

2. Tire Size 245/40R-19 94Y FER

rondog's wheels are wonderful, but man oh man, and sponsor or not, his suggestion of the proxes 4 is whacked.

The Proxes 4 may have been fine when it was first introduced BACK IN 2004, but that was six friggin' years ago and tire technology has greatly improved. The Proxes T1R is a higher performance tire, but still based upon ancient technology compared to the latest tires.

If you want a dedicated summer tire that will obliterate anything else that comes close to its price, get the Continental ExtremeContact DW. At $222 each from tirerack.com in your size, its a relative bargain (especially compared with the older Goodyear GSD3 which costs far more). It also will last you a decent amount of time since it has a 340 treadwear rating, unusually high for a "Y"-speed rated tire.

Want to save some money have have almost as high-perfomance? Get the Hankook Ventus V12 evo. They are only $161 each.

In between the DW and the V12 evo is the Sumitomo HTR ZIII at $187 each.

As for the two different GSD3's you listed above, one is an XL load rating (the 98Y). Discounttiredirect seems to be out of stock for each version.

Sorry to get back to you so late, been out of town. However, if the information is still useful, I went with the first one -- the XL 98Y B's

get something with a treadware in the low 200's that will make the car stick to the ground. Toyo Micheline Falken Yokohama. Dont let the price fool you! You own the top of line Honda acura that deserves a GREAT tire not just some tires. It will just make you love you rims even more. Good luck
