Cool Need help Asap

I'm in the process of ordering new rims was told my 2005 RL can support 22 inch rims with a low profile tire with a 40 offset. Thanks for your help in advance. If so what size tires would require to make this happens opinions welcomed.

I actually wanted constructive advice thought this is what this forum is for. I was looking for help not wise cracks. Was taught if you don't have any thing decent to say keep it to your self I should have clarified this in my posting. Thanks for nothing.

The reason you are getting all the wise cracks is that while you can put any wheel/tire on any car, it's going to be pretty impossible to maintain the original wheel/tire diameter with 22" wheels. The tire size for 20 inchers are 255/35-20... For 22s, you'd have to go lower profile than 35s. Good luck finding a set of tires like that... You might as well just strap a big rubber band to the wheel. Not to mention the look of that thing....

To keep your speedometer accurate, you'd have to go with a 22x8-8.5 wheel, with 235/25/22 tires.

Need help asap

The rims I would like to purchase are on the google search image Kb1 Legend photo the carr has a value sports kit on it. Does anyone know wherre I can get a siimiliar set of rims like these. Thanks so much.

You are going to have a hard time finding love on a car enthusiast forum when you want to donk out your car. 22" wheels belong on a Range Rover.

Think of it like this, an already good looking girl comes to you for a make over. When it comes to shoes, you have two options: 1) Put a nice pair of Prada on her to supplement her already classy style or 2) throw some 4" platform heels on that bitch and make her look like a stripper. Please don't whore out your RL.

On the other hand, we have a saying here in Finland:
You can try everything but your sister and folk dances.
Personally i wouldn't even think 22" wheels.
That 22" thing will be expensive experiment thou.

This will not work for a variety of reasons, unless you are willing to move outside the stock wheel diameter of 26.6", obviously not recommended with all wheel drive, where all the sensors and computer programming is assuming that diameter of tire.

Use the 1010tires.com calculator to figure out the issues.

If this link works, you can see what happens with various tire sizes going to 21 and 22 inch while maintaining the stock diameter.

245/50-17 stock tire size translates to

245/45-18
245/40-19
245/35/20
and if the tires even existed in these sizes, you would actually have to decrease section width to maintain the stock rolling diameter to

235/30-21
235/25-22

Then there are the usual wheel fitment difficulties and weight/handling considerations. Just by doing a simple search on Avarus wheels, a 22 incher, no tire will weigh over 40 lbs....that is just crazy heavy. That is my

looks a lot like a c-class with that kit. but we all know the rl was out first.



you can get those oz's but i dont think they come in whore sizes 22. lol

I think you're going to have a lot of problems trying to find tires that will fit the RL on a 22" wheel. I can look tomorrow when I get to work but doing some searching on some of the larger tire dealer's websites for 235, 245 or 255/25R22 turned up no results. I would imagine there are some odd tires here and there that will work but they are going to be few and far between. I would highly suggest 20's to you. You will still find plenty of wheel and tire options and they look pretty good. I hesitated at putting 20's on my car but I'm glad I did it. Just gotta lower the car this summer now.

even if you do get the tires how far will he drive before a sidewall gets damaged

Lol. a 245/25R22 has a 2.4" sidewall so I'm gonna say not too far. I see sidewall separations and bent wheels galore in this one's future...

Thanks all for your feedback. It was never my intentions to get 22 inch rims. They offered the ones I wanted in that size. I just want a really nice looking ride. I get compliments already but why not a few more I love my baby.

Nice bro my kit is being fabricated in japan as we speak recently got a new paint job. Its almost done I have put about 9000 into it. With amuse kit rims and tires rugs. And new head light housings as minewas starting to fade.any recommendations for front lighting ie bulbs.

I don't really know how all I have is old pictures from when i purchased my firstvset of 20 you can google menzari z12 and view what it looks like then. Itsc the silver acura rl. I have no new pictures as its being paiinted the same color but I have the amuse kit being fabricated and my new rims are lexani-lx 14 I just ordered them. I'm currently offshore but will be home in afew weeks looking for lights recommendations.

The low beams are D2S Xenon HID. They go in your headlight assembly toward the outside.

The high beams are 9005 Halogen. They are also in the headlight assembly toward the center. They are also your DRL. I would only replace these with a good aftermarket Halogen. The OSRAM Nightbreakers are good Halogen bulbs. I went Sylvania Silverstar Ultra, and am kinda disappointed with their performance.

The fog lights are H11 Halogen. I replaced mine with an HID kit from Xtreme HID using their slim ballast. The Retro Fit Source should also have good kit for these bulbs.
