Miro 19" Wheels, need your input

Hey guys, I've been shopping for some new wheels and wasn't sure if I should go 19" or 20" for my 05 RL. I currently have it lowered with H&R springs. I was looking at the Miro TYPE STP 2 for my car in 19x8.5 but wasn't sure about the offset. I heard the brake calipers in front are another thing all together.

I found someone who is offering them to me for $600 cash for a set of 4 brandnew.

If I get 19x8.5 all around what is a good tire setup size I should go with? Will those wheels even fit my car?

Please let me know

Find out the offset for these wheels.
I found some site that states it comes in 15, 32, 35, 45 offsets.
I'd venture to say that the 45 offset may be your best bet.
If that's what's being sold to you, buy them!
But test for fitment first.

Tire setup would be 255/40/19

The correct tire set up would be 245/40-19 to match the diameter of the OEM tires.

255/40-19 is a popular substitute in 2005 and 2006, about 1.5% larger....when there were few to no choices in 245/40-19...that situation has now changed and there are choices in 245/40-19.

While probably a typo, 245/45-19 is the WRONG size, close to 4% too large. Do not use that size.

Good advice, test for fitment.

45 is almost spot on for an 8.5" wide wheel, but you cannot tell if the brake caliper would clear the back of the spokes. You may be forced to go to 35 if that is the wheel you want. Make sure you get a hubcentric ring if you buy, and TPMS, of course...

Neither, but I don't like rivets or a lip.

Take a look around here to see 19's and 20's. It's really personal preference, but I tend to agree with others that 2" above OEM, 19' in this case, looks the best. Something to consider is the amount of sidewall you get between the two. 20's will obviously give you .5" less sidewall for the same diameter tire. If potholes/ rim damage is a concern, go with more sidewall. Same goes for handling. 20's will be harsher with respect to ride quality.

I don't know if 9.5" wide will work in the front. I think 9" is the widest anyone here has achieved. 8.5" has been done MANY times so I would stick with that. You don't really want to get into staggered setups b/c then you have to match tire diameters. 8.5" all around is your safest bet.

If you cannot test fit or return after a test fit fails, don't do it. Offset is only one part of the equation, and just because offset is correct with respect to the OEM specs does not mean the wheel will fit because of the brake caliper clearance issue.

Thanks Guys, I'm going to go with 19x8.5 all around. I have seen other cars online with Miro STP 2 wheels and I like the look so I'll see how they are on the car before I buy, just hope they clear the front calipers. I'll post a pic if it all works out.

oo7spy is there a thread here where I can see different RL's with aftermarket wheels? I suck at navigating this forum and finding things.

There are surely more in the photogallery past page 2.5.
Three cars here. 2 sets of 19"s, two sets of 20"s.

Can someone post a pic of what a 245/40-19 tire looks like vs a 255/40/19? Is 245/40-19 closer to OEM spec for RL's? I was going off what the sticky said in this forum, that's why.
