Michelin Pilot Sport A/S's
Hey guys.. I noticed that the Pilot Sport A/S +'s have been discontinued for our OEM 17" 245/50 17 wheel size.. I also noticed that the new Pilot Sport A/S 3's came out though just not yet for our stock size wheels..
Does the +'s discontinue mean that Michelin will bring the 3's to our car within the next few months (if at all)? Reason being is that I am about to pull the trigger on some BS Serenity +'s as they are in my top 3 along with the PS A/S 3's and the Versado's..
What do you guys think? Thanks in advance..

Michelin has not announced that size yet. Once they do, it will be weeks to months before they are built and shipped. The 245/50R17 is a dying tire size. Only 3 cars have ever used it. Two of those are no longer being produced and the third is in its last year of production. There's a chance they may never release it in that size if there is not enough demand to make it worth their while.

the 3rd being the RL I'm assuming.. The only reason why I speculated besides the disco is bc Michelin did the same thing with the A/S Sports & A?S Sports +'s.. I didn't know the extreme rarity of the wheel size so from a financial perspective, it wouldn't make much sense for Michelin to put all that money into a new tire for our OEM size..
So BS Serenity+ it is.. I have the $70 rebate and I get 2% back from Costco Executive Membership so the price is worth it.. Plus they use nitrogen to fill up the tires

BMW 5-Series was the first to use it and switched the size after a year or two. Acura used it for the RL from 2005-2008 before they switched to 18" wheels. Acura still uses it for the base model TL but I doubt they will still use it when the 5th gen comes out.
Michelin already have 2 other tires they build in that size: Primacy MXM4 and Pilot HX MXM4. There really isn't enough demand for them to continue building 3 different tires in a size that is on its way out the door.
