Question Lug nuts for de-PAXing with A-Spec RL wheels

I purchased the Acura RL 18" A-Spec wheels and the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus tires to replace my PAX wheels and tires. When trying to mount the new wheels we noticed that the PAX lug nuts didn't seat well with the A-Spec wheels. The Acura parts guy thought the actual lug bolts might be slightly different but didn't have the specs.

Has anyone dealt with the lug nut issue for this particular case (Acura RL A-Spec Wheels for Tech Package RL - 2006)? What lug nuts will work for this new wheel? Will standard RL lug nuts work or do you need to buy special lug nuts? If so, where can I find the correct one to fit?

Thanks for the help.

You need to buy different lug nuts. The PAX wheels have spherical seats. The A-Spec have the same flat seat that the OEM 17's do. Hondacuraworld.com can set you up. Ask for Tim. You need to decide whether you want locks or not also. Be sure you buy the correct locks, same issue with the seats. I never worried about locks on the PAX wheels because who would want them!?

I don't have my reference materials on this computer so I cannot help you with part numbers, but if you search you will find the correct part numbers. They have been posted before.

You could also buy Gorilla lock lug nuts so you can have 20 locking lugs if you want. Or just buy 4 locks.

By the way, do not run your A-Spec wheels until you get the proper nuts or you will damage the seats. In addition, because they are not tight, you could have an even more catastrophic result.

Thanks for the info Chas2. I have the part numbers for the standard lug nuts (90304-SHJ-A91) for the base RL. Are you saying that these are compatible with the lug bolts on the RL Tech Package and will mate with the A-spec wheels?

Yes, the RL's all have 14x1.5 lug bolts, so they will work. You can verify the seats by looking at your PAX (spherical) and your A-Spec (flat)

See the Feb 2007 Acura Service News for pictures.

I bought the standard lug nuts for my de-PAX job.

The lugs on my A Spec wheels are huge, 22mm. They have a washer at the end near the opening.
