How do you adjust the headlights

After putting on the A-Spec suspension I've found that my headlights are even lower than they were when I got it. How do you raise the aim of the lights?

i think they are auto leveling... since you are lower the aim will be lower accordingly...

i may be wrong though.

If the auto leveling works like the BMW then you have to adjust them, and then as you add (or remove) weight to the trunk the lights auto level. They don't auto adjust :-)

The RL is supposed to have a self leveling headlight, but the light does have to be adjusted now that you have changed your suspension height according to two sections of the manual.

2006 RL P. 140
Automatic Headlight Adjusting
System

The AFS works with the automatic
headlight adjusting system to sense
changes in vehicle height due to
driving and loading conditions of
passengers and luggage, and adjusts
the vertical aim of the low beam
headlights automatically to
compensate for load.

If the headlights do not seem to be
properly aimed, have the Auto
Leveling system inspected by your
dealer.

2006 RL P. 372
Headlight Aiming
Your vehicle is equipped with an
automatic headlight adjusting
system that adjusts the vertical aim
of the low beam headlights
automatically. Refer to page 140 for
more information.

The high beam headlights were
properly aimed when your vehicle
was new. If you regularly carry
heavy items in the trunk or pull a
trailer, readjustment may be
required. Adjustment of the high
beam headlights should be
performed by a dealer or other
mechanic.

Chas,

Ok, is your post saying the high beam and the low beam are adjustable seperately?

Does anyone know how to adjust them?

Yes, the high beam/DRL is a regular 9005 halogen bulb, and so should be much like the standard headlights, and are not self leveling as are the AFS lo beams which are HID.

It used to be you take a long #2 phillips and engage some gears to do the adjustment, one for vertical and another set of gears for horizontal adjustment for each light. I have not really looked at this car to see how you do it.

The thread below talks about adjusting the HIDs, you would think that the high beams are similar.
