Honda Legend Kb1 - Odd steering

Hey, bought a Honda Legend Kb1 2008 a while ago.
Had a bit of an odd steering feel...
Front lower ball joints where both bad so I had the control arms replaced.
The steering improved a lot. But I feel something is still not 100% correct.
Feels a little bit sensitive and it is like I have some kind of glitch between my steering wheel and my wheels.
What is the next thing to look at?

Thanks in advance
Lowpass

How are your tie rods looking? Upper control arm?

Took the car for wheel alignment, told them to check tie rod ends. They looked ok they said.
Is there an inner tie rod also?
Upper control arm I have no idea in which shape it is. Common to replace?

Edit: Car has done about 230 000 km / 140 000 miles

My inner tie rods were starting to go bad on my car when I replaced them. Definitely worth looking at. The UCA doesn't seem to go bad as often on the 2G as it did on the 1G. I had to replace those on my 1G due to a common failure. That's not to say the 2G is stronger design, I just haven't seen them fail as much. The UCA usually gives you a noise, and possibly loose steering, but mostly noise.

had you check the steering rack to see if it leak? while you have the tire rods inspected ask them to check on the rack and pinion.

Actually, I realized I have a rusty tiny pipe that is visible under the front bumper. I think this is where steering fluid goes.
Probably will need a replacement.
Hopefully this will solve it. Might be a leak somewhere in the piping.

Thank you!

Really suspecting the Rack and Pinion. The car is'nt that bad to drive but I can feel that is not 100% of what it should be.
Still haven't replaced anything though...
I'm waiting to do everything at once, I have some rusty steering pipes that I also want to replace.

Have someone replaced their rack and pinion? Aftermarket or refurbished? Or just fix your own?
I am in Sweden, so I have some trouble finding a solution because the car is not common at all here.

you might have to buy one from UK or Germany and have it import to Sweden, here in the US we got a lot of option to choose from.

Hey,

Yes, I already checked out Rockauto's options, sadly they are out of stock and the only option is to send my own there.
But that will take to much time. Shipping was 90 dollars, which is ok, but then you also need another 25% of the price for taxes and also some other fees.
Will try my luck in UK.
Only 300 cars where sold in Germany, and mine is one of them. So they don't have anything either...

Edit: Just came to my mind that UK drives on the wrong side, lets see how this goes

^^^ ouch I totally forgot about it, well if that the case you might want to looking to buy reputable reman rack on amazon or ebay. I think the OEM rack made by Showa and also note if you buy OEM new rack you will need to buy inner tire rod and boot as well where the reman rack come with inner tire rod and boot.

Thank you very much!
Seems like a godd solution.

This is the part you mean right?
Rack and Pinion Complete Unit Cardone 26-2727E Reman fits 05-06 Acura RL | eBay
It says 05-06 RL. Is there any difference in 2007-2008? Same KB1 chassi.

Also found this... What do you think?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Complete-Pow...JWSg3P&vxp=mtr

Many thanks!

Still have this issue, everything is now checked and the only thing remaining should be the rack.
Rockauto does not have a rack in stock.
Found a rack at Detroit Axle. Has someone tried their stuff?

Do you have LKAS on your RL? EDM and JDM legend does come with optional electric hybrid rack where in the US we only have traditional hydraulic rack.

Hi!
No, I do not seem to have LKAS. I have the "Executive Advanced" which seemed to be the most equipped left-steered Legend.
(I think they have LKAS as option only on the right-steered as in England and Japan) Might be wrong though.

Mine looks exactly like this in the interior (no lkas button on steering wheel as I understand the other have)

Thank you!

You previously mensioned that you had some options to choose from,
can you please give me some tips of where I should look?
It is hard for me to find everything by just browsing around.
I'm fimiliar with Rockauto, but they do not have any rack in stock still.

looks like Ebay is your best friend since most company does not have a logistic team that specialize in international shipping. I working as a logistic while Germany and western EU isn't so bad but other country like UAE or Saudi is a nightmare when come to proper documentation for custom clearance.

How about your tires (maybe stupid question)? When i bought my Legend steering felt sticky and weird, shop checked everything, alignment, joints etc. It was the tires that made it feel odd, Nokia wasnt right brand for it.

Very good point about the tires Maintenanceman!

I just put on studded wintertires. Nokian Hakkapeliitta 8, 235/50-17 on OEM wheels (original tyre size is 235 on the Legends)
I've just drove about 50km but the car seems totally different. Maybe it is to early to cheer but I want to think that the issue is gone.

The summertires are 235/45-18. Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetric 3 with a Dezent TX 18x8" ET45 wheel.

What size did you have? Was the issue solved? What did you change to?

After those Nokia tires (original 17" rims) i bought 19" rims (some RS Xtralip BMW 5 series fronts 8,5" wide) and some cheap tires on them, way better right away. After two summers they were done, too soft i guess... After those i bought Nexen tires, middle price i think, and now two summers with them, maybe two more to come.
First winter tires were some Michelins (studded) and after them i bought some GT-radial studded tires, middle price but works very well, they are on OZ Ultra leggera 17" rims. Always big difference between summer and winters.
These are now powder coated to black metallic with metallic powder clear coat

Seems that the Legend is very sensitive for differrent tires then. I wonder what to try next time.
I went in to you photobucket. Looks really good.
The BMW wheels, which model are they from? Did they fit good?
If you click on the first picture in this thread you can probably see my photobucket also. Same color Legend!

They are from some 500 series, those what have wider back than front.
They fit nicely, few mm`s clearance between front brake calibers.

Nothing was replaced. I drove with the new wintertires and the problem was gone.
Changed back to summertires and it was more sensitive. After this summer the tires has been worn out a bit. And the car is not sensitive anymore.
I guess the tires was the cause for the odd feeling in the steering.
