General G-Max/DWS/RE970AS

Ok so I have the Blizzak WS-60's on all four corners so now its time to concentrate on what all season tires I need to buy. I was recently introduced to the General G-Max AS-03 by a guy at work he says he likes them but to be honest he is the type of guy who doesnt know too much about cars/tires so I take his opinion with a grain of salt. BUT I just checked the tire rack there actually rate pretty much the same as the Michelin Pilot Sports. There aren't many miles posted against the G-Max's but imo they look pretty good so far. And there about 50 bucks cheaper then the DWS's which are relatively inexpensive to begin with. Tire rack has them for 114 each!!! What do you think? Anyone have them?

Or do I drop down 1 tire size to 235/50/17 Bridgestone RE970AS's which seem to good to be true with their ratings.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

I would stick to the DWS over the G-Max. General is basically Continental's more entry level brand. At least wait until the G-Max has been around a little bit longer and there are more long term reviews on them. Every tire is going to seem great when they're put on brand new since the tires they are replacing are probably bald and well past their prime. That's why the reviews are so good on them right now. Just wait until those people report back on their long term satisfaction with that tire. I'm sure the ratings will go down...I know the DWS ratings have been slowly dropping.

Quality wise, the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus is pretty much the highest quality tire on the market right now in terms of a high performance A/S tire.

I would advise against going down a size just for the RE970 when you can get the Turanza Serenity in the OEM size. The Serenity will be quieter, smoother riding and longer lasting anyway.

go with the DWS they were excellent on the RL and are currently amazing on the Genny.

Dry traction and wet traction are on par with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S, snow is way better.
