DePAXing questions...

I know these have likely all been answered in various threads, but was hoping to get some concise feedback...I have an '06 RL Tech Pkg:

1. What size wheels can/should I get to replace the originals?

2. To order from some place like TireRack.com, can I just fake it and say I don't have the Tech Package? Will the TPMS they install work with the Tech Package Model?

3. Anyway to get a spare tire kit other than from the dealer?

Thanks!

This is an expensive change, so research wisely. It is worth the trouble to research this so you don't get saddled with something that will cost even more to return because it won't fit and more to replace.

1. People have fitted 18-22 inches. Your choice. Appropriate sized rubber is going dictate your wheel choices. 18 has the most choice, and is closest to the PAX wheel diameter for 435 mm.

2. Yes to all, but read this thread on the MID and what it will tell a driver that does not know what is on your car...

3. Junk, er auto recycling, yard. The wheel and tire are the most expensive. I think everything else cost under $100 from a dealer that sells on the internet.

I guess it would make most sense once your pax tires need replaced, then it would basically be a wash right? The cost of 4 pax tires vs. depaxing..
